Setting the Blog

Introduction

Creating a blog page is easy. Revell is using native Blog settings. Just create a new page for blog and set it as "Posts page" under Settings >> Reading section. See screenshot given below:



Now start creating new posts by going to "Posts" section




Post Format

Revell theme supports 10 post formats. You will see all Post Formats as tabs to select. If you can't see tabs than please install CF Post Formats plugin. Here are list of all supported post formats with details:

  • Standard post format:
  • Aside post format:
  • Audio post format:
  • Chat post format:
  • Gallery post format:
  • Image post format:
  • Link post format:
  • Quote post format:
  • Status post format:
  • Video post format:


Setting "You may also like" section




The related posts will be shown on Blog page and also on single blog page too. This section title should be "You may also like". You can select Posts which will be shown in this section by editing the main post. Just edit a post and you can select three posts which will be shown in this section. The option will look like this:





Also you can change options for this "You may also like" view. For example, you can change columns and also how many posts you like show etc. Juse go to Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog Settings section and do changes in "Related Posts Settings" section. The options will look like this:







Manage "Advertisement" section on Blog page.




This advertisement block will be shown on Blog page. You can manage it's settings from Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog Settings section. There is section called "Blog Advertisement Block settings" section which you can change to edit the area. See screenshot given below:








This block will be shown on Blog page. You can manage it's settings from Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog Settings section. There is section called "Blog Editors Pick Block settings" section which you can change to edit the area. See screenshot given below:




Also this section will show only selected posts only. Just edit the post and check the Show this post in Editors Pick block checkbox so that post will appear in the Editors Pick section. See screenshot given below:








This block will be shown on Blog page as slider which will show post with carousel effect. You can manage it's settings from Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog Settings section. There is section called "Featured Post Slider Settings" section which you can change to edit the area. See screenshot given below:



Also this slider will show only selected posts only. Just edit the post and check the Show this post in Homepage Post Slider checkbox so that post will appear in the slider. See screenshot given below:



TIP: This slider will be shown on Blog page only. But you can show this slider on other pages too. You can use [tm-featured-post-slider] shortcode to show this slider on any page.








This block will be shown on Blog page as slider which will show post with carousel effect. You can manage it's settings from Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Blog Settings section. There is section called "Polupar Posts Settings" section which you can change to edit the area. See screenshot given below:








This block will show widgets. You can use it to link any page. The recommended use is link to category so users will get all posts from that category. This is Widget so you can manage it easily. Just go to Admin > Appearance > Widgets section and add "ThemeMount Blogroll" widget in the "Blog-roll-widget" area. See screenshot given below:








We are using ThemeMount Post Slider widget for this. So just go to Admin > Appearance > Widgets section and add "ThemeMount Post Slider" widget in the "Right Sidebar for Blog" (or any other) area. See screenshot given below:
